Welcome to the Fall River Garden Club

Our club mission is to promote the improvement of home and community flower and vegetable gardens, lawns, trees and landscaping through friendly sharing of information, work and education. The club is open to anyone interested in gardening. We also encourage gardeners to make space in their gardens for our birds and animals and to promote conservation of our resources.

The annual dues are a modest $15 per person or $20 per couple.

During the year we run  events in order to raise money to beautify our neighbourhoods. Our main fundraiser is our annual plant sale, followed by an area garden tour whereby members open their gardens for viewing to the general public. The monies raised at these events go towards supporting Santa's Express and giving a Bursary to a student at Nova Scotia Agriculture College studying horticulture. In addition, the gardens maintained in the surrounding areas are also funded from these events.

Monthly meetings are held on the third Monday of each month and everyone is welcome. Meetings are held February though May and September through November. See the Calendar for details. We have changed venue for the meetings. We will now meet at the Open Gate, 5 Miller Lane, Fall River. This location is close to the Fire Museum on the #2 Hwy.

Three projects the club currently sponsors are the LWF Community Ctr., Jamieson Park adjacent to Georges P Vanier School and our newest addition, the Fire Museum garden on the #2 Hwy..

Fall River is located just 15km from the capital of Nova Scotia, Halifax, via Hwy 118 or 102.
